SARASWATHI L

Hyderabad, India

Saraswathi's paintings are focused on Hindu mythology, mostly depicting the scenes of Radha, Krishna, and Meera in her own trademark contemporary art style.

BIOGRAPHY

The works of Saraswathi draw inspiration from Hindu mythology, they are primarily on the Radha Krishna theme, which is created from her own imagination, with minimum unusual colors, in varied tones. Most of her paintings are dominated by blue color, which symbolizes Lord Krishna, and also it is the color of love.

One can also notice the dense background covered with leaves, complementing the subjects in the painting - Radha & Krishna, cows, deers, peacocks, Ganesha, and more. It emphasizes the subject with a lot of subtlety. Radha is usually depicted as sitting or resting under a tree, with flute giving a very traditional look, with minimal jewelry, with rich designs on her clothes. The flora & fauna elements in her paintings give a very colorful and lively depiction.

Born and brought up in Telangana, Saraswathi received her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from JNTU Hyderabad and went on to do her Master’s degree from the same University. She has 7 solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions to her credit. She has been awarded the All India Art Exhibition Award from Hyderabad Art Society in 2008, and the 4th CMS Vatavaran for Creative Expressions painting, Hyderabad. Her painting is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Sacred Arts [MOSA], Durbuy, Belgium. Also, many with private art lovers in India and abroad.
